The historic town of Havelock is the water gateway to the Pelorus and Keneperu Sounds. Once a thriving gold-mining town it is now known as the Greenshell Mussel capital of the world.

Greenshell Mussel Cruise
The Greenshell Mussel Cruise departs Havelock Marina daily (1 Nov - 31 March) at 1.30pm for an afternoon cruise through the Pelorus and Keneperu Sounds. As part of the cruise we visit a mussel farm where you will be served the freshest steamed mussels with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. A fabulous wine and food match in a beautiful part of Marlborough.

By Air
Air New Zealand has flights into Blenheim from around New Zealand.
Sounds Air
is a locally owned and operated airline linking the North and South islands with flights between Wellington, Picton, Blenheim and Nelson.

By Sea
Interislander and Bluebridge are Cook Strait ferry services travelling between Wellington, North Island and Picton, South Island. The crossing takes approximately 3 hours, one hour of which is taken up cruising through the beautiful Marlborough Sounds.

By Rail
The Coastal Pacific train travels between the delightful port and holiday town of Picton, and the South Island’s largest city of Christchurch.  This is one of the world’s most scenic train journeys: travelling along the east coast of South Island, New Zealand with the Kaikoura mountain ranges on one side of the track and the rugged Pacific Ocean coastline on the other.  The Coastal Pacific train travels through 22 tunnels and crosses 175 bridges.
